Greetings
Shannon Dion is a textile artist currently living in Michigan. Her work is influenced by history, tradition, and modern innovation. Growing up in the country and tailoring experience also play a role in the style and design of her work. She comes from a family of makers and has a deep respect for things made by hand. She enjoys working in both two- and three-dimensional fiber art.
My Journey in Fiber
My art is both memory and celebration of the natural world around me. Color, contrast and texture and sometimes a small detail are the inspiration.
Combining traditional quilting skills with innovation and experimentation to create pieces that reflect nature’s beauty without directly replicating it. Whether working in 2 or 3 dimensions, the aim is to infuse each piece with joy, humor and remembrances.
You are invited to pause a moment and enjoy my art, hopefully finding bits of your memories captured here as well.
